We are pleased to provide you with some case studies of the kinds of projects we have carried out at MISL. The below case studies are downloadable as PDF files and provide an insight into ways in which we have helped our customers. Happy reading!
Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust
MISL has been contracted to carry out one of the largest and most ambitious medical records scanning projects in the NHS for the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (Royal Free). The project is to scan in a back file of over 550,000 historic paper medical record files together with all paperwork generated each day at the Trust going forward. MISL has completed scanning over 360,000 records to date since commencing scanning in April 2014. The project go live date was November 12th 2014 and by Christmas 2015 all the back scanning of medical records will be completed, a full two years and four months ahead of schedule. MISL is delivering the project from a dedicated scanning facility in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire with a team of 110 staff working 24 hours a day, 5 days per week over 3 shifts. The project is proving to be a huge success and is testament to the way in which MISL has worked with the Trust and other suppliers to design and implement the most effective project process.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust
MISL carried out a long term, modular document scanning project for Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust to assist with a complex challenge surrounding the rebuilding of the Manor Road Hospital in Walsall. MISL worked with the procurement department to design and implement the most efficient project to assist with all of the administrative departments moving into temporary accommodation. MISL had to design a process to capture the needs of the varying departments quickly so that documents could be shipped off for scanning.
The world renowned University of Cambridge is a modular organisation that consists of a collection of 31 constituent colleges. The Colleges operate under their own governance on many issues but combine to form the second oldest university in the United Kingdom. Much of the administration of the University is carried out centrally and MISL was approached by the Student Administration function of the university to help them manage and work with their student admissions files.
The Hyde Group
MISL carried out a successful project for the Hyde Group, an extensive housing association based in the south of England and London with over 42,000 properties. MISL was commissioned via the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) national framework contract number 390 for document scanning. The project was an example of scanning to the BS10008 standard for the legal admissibility and evidential weight of scanned documentation and involved a high level of interaction with the customer to design the best approach to their unique logistical challenges.
Tiptree Medical Centre
MISL was pleased to be able to support Tiptree Medical Centre to scan in their Lloyd George patient record files and paperwork to free up space, reduce clinical risk and increase the efficiency of the surgery. Tiptree is part of the NHS North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and is part of a rolling patient records scanning project that MISL is carrying out for 36 surgeries in the North East Essex area.
